Market 477: Green on green 1965 1600 Spider 392552

Giulia Spider 1600 10123*392552.  This green-on-green late Spider 1600 is on eBay right now out of New York.  The condition is good over-all, if a bit unoriginal in the details.  Metallic paint on Market 69‘s late Spider took quite a beating in the comments section on BringaTrailer (always a pleasure!), I wonder what they would think of this one.  Carpet looks a bit like astro-turf!

A good looking car in this color -whether you like it or not.  Kind of a big Healey or Aston type color.  I’m hoping by now you all know which kind of wheels these are.  Is the nose trim missing?

Rear view mirror is wrong of a sort.  Carpet looks like astro-turf.  Dash edging looks like the earlier type.  Top snaps are missing from the body in the foreground.

Air horns are cool.  They went the full distance with the metallic green and painted the engine compartment.  One of the better detailing jobs I’ve seen on a late 1600 Spider.

Exhaust tip is from a Subaru or something! Trunk script is probably from a late 80’s Spider.  I’m guessing there’s still some work to do on this, but that it runs pretty good.  I wonder how the non original color will affect the outcome?

  1. Yes, it s a goodlooking car from the pictures we have been provided by the seller. But since when are there 1955 Spiders that look like 63+ versions? Why state that its a ’55?? Is this a scam?

  2. The wrong color, well, is a question of taste.
But: wrong taillights, wrong exhaust tip, wrong license lights, wrong interior mirror, wrongly painted dash cover, wrong gearknob, weird looking trunklid gap. No single pic of the front, undercarriage. Missing hood chrome trim. Wrong year, stated twice.
