Hello Matt and Group,

I referred this car to you guys in Falls at the time it was for sale at a Shop in Massachussets. I had no interest in the business of course.
The owner of this business put then the car in Auction and we now know the results/

– this car is not listed in your register Matt yet. I do not see it in the 750 Normale part.

Doesn’t the cast hump above the Alfa Romeo lettering on the valve cover identify it as a 1750? Brake fluid res is from a drum brake car I think. Disk brake is larger diameter. Still a nice car!

If you look in the Parts Manual, it lists Tipo 10125 as Spider Veloce, US model, engine type 00106, vin range 1495 – 08001 – 11,900. Spider 10103 and 10104 use this same vin range for Normale’s so you’s have to look in d’Amico & Tabucchi for the specific individuals from the range that were manufactured as Veloce’s -or look at the specific car in question for evidence of being a Veloce.

Do the numbers on the data plate make any sense? Did a 101.25 ever exist? My Fusi list says that 1495.11332 corresponds to a 1960 Giulietta spider type 101.03.

A very common trademark for this particular seller…. sells mostly already painted, and barely started restorations …. An Earl Scheib paint job always good for hiding major repairs that have been haphazardly completed. Seen a number of his cars sold in like conditions. Shall we called Caveat Emptor…to say the least.
